Welcome to VLH

figure-04The goal and premise of VIMA LUPWA HOME is the “whole village” approach, rather than being institutionalized in an orphanage, this is a home for children where they are raised in their own culture, in a home parented by a Zambian couple; education is in the Zambian community along with the

other children of Mikomfwa, eating typical Zambian food and speaking their own language – all in an effort to empower them in their own culture and to become self-sustaining leaders/members of their community.

“Therefore, we pledge to bind ourselves to one another . . . to feed our starving, to clothe our ragged, to do all good things, knowing that we are more than keepers of our brothers and sisters. We are our brothers and sisters.”
