Vima Lupwa Homes
"Therefore, we pledge to bind ourselves to one another . . . to feed our starving, to clothe our ragged, to do all good things, knowing that we are more than keepers of our brothers and sisters. We
are our brothers and sisters." — Maya Angelou
The first Vima Lupwa Home opened on December 16, 2006. The small home provides
a safe, loving family atmosphere in which the basic needs of up to
14
children are met, including proper nutritious meals, beds, clothing, education, health care and most
importantly – love and nurturing by parents Violet Membe and her husband,
Mwala.
